Ive bet horses for years and just started betting basketball and hockey about a week ago. Haven't been doing too bad just playing around with $10 bets. I finally jumped and put a $100 on the Toronto/New York game, straight line bet Toronto to win. Had no idea it said 3 way in the header and even if I saw that I had no idea what that meant. Game tied after regulation and bit my nails through overtime which ended in a tie and a shootout ending in tie. Finally the leafs got the point and won't in second shootout. I was stoked to win $357 until I checked my account and it told me I lost at regulation end. Took a solid half hour for me to figure out what happened. Anyways, are there any other nuances to sports betting a rookie should look out for? Any tips? The horses were much more straightforward than this.
